Renown is NO LONGER MEETING.

For almost four years now, Renown has met on Monday or Thursday nights to challenge, inspire, encourage and interact with young adults on matters of God and faith, and their intersection with real life.

But we will not be meeting tonight.

Over those four years, we have bravely delved into conversations on sexuality, addictions, relationships, abuse, church, community, and even politics. We have worked with many young adults one-on-one for counseling, coaching, and mentoring. We have seen them begin and grow a relationship with Jesus Christ. We have watched as they gave up long-time addictions and substance abuse, by the grace of God. We have walked with them through the ending of destructive relationships and the beginning of healthy ones. We have helped them navigate new work opportunities and even career changes.

In short, we have made disciples.

In mid-July, the Board of Directors for Renown made the most difficult decision we had been faced with yet. It has been increasingly difficult to fund the ministry over the past two years, and this year’s funding has been extremely low. The decision was made to dissolve the ministry now while we are still solvent and debt-free.

We are providing a severance package for our Director, Angus Nelson. Please be in prayer for him and his family as they navigate a new chapter with God.  In addition, be in prayer for young adults who have been attending Renown. Pray that they will be able (and willing) to connect with area churches if they do not already have a church home.

For everything there is a season. For Renown, it has been a four-year season…and a good one.  Thank you so much for your prayers and support over the last four years. You have made a difference in the lives of so many!
